Review of 2017 - Part 4 - A Scottish Adventure

September was all about a trip to Scotland and really the first time I had gone on a photo trip on my own. So it was with suitcase and camera bag in tow that I got on the plane to Inverness and then onto the town of Beauly. As I was there for 3 1/2 days but with only 1 day of good weather photos weren't exactly easy to get but on the second full day I came across a quite magnificent scene.

This was a place called Loch Lochy and wasn't even on my list of places to visit, sometimes stumbling across somewhere can bring large rewards in the same way meticulous planning can often disappoint. My next area I had planned to visit but had no idea what to expect when I got there, I wasn't disappointed!

Heading up towards the Glencoe gave me more amazing scenes than I knew what to do with, so wish I had more time there and was able to explore, as it was I had to kind of hand around where I parked but then there was a lot of places to park!

My last journey of the day was the visit Glenfinnan a wonderful viaduct made ultra-famous by appearing in a film about a certain young wizard. I wasn't really prepared for what turned out to be a very hot climb to get the best views, made even harder by the muddy ground, but it was worth it

My last day, the weather was atrocious so I thought perhaps if I head west it may be a little better than where I was wasn't, but the Isle of Skye really is a quite astonishingly beautiful place no matter the weather and I can't reccomend it enough (even if the winds and drving rain seem strong wnough to cause personal injury)

I loved Scotland so much I will be returning in May this year and will be bringing Mrs CPF along with me for hiking fun! We plan to explore more as well as re-visiting places I went to on this trip and giving them the time and exploration they deserve.
